Bookcrafts by Lori

Lori’s education and background have inspired her lifelong interest in making things. Always the creative type, using resources at hand. Upon retirement from higher education, Lori took a part-time job at a used bookstore. It was there that she noticed not all used books made it out to the sales floor. Some books were destined for the recycle bin. Whether the books were damaged, or otherwise deemed “unsellable” Lori noticed interesting covers and beautiful illustrations. It was from this observation that Bookcrafts were born. Starting with tabletop creations, Bookcrafts now include bookmarks and wall-hanging pieces, along with an assortment of flowers made from the pages of books. Each piece is one of a kind, handmade, and visually unique. When she’s not creating Bookcrafts, Lori enjoys reading (big surprise!), watching documentaries, thrifting and antiquing. Lori and her husband (college sweetheart) are at the very edge of an empty nest, they are proud parents and delighted grandparents. Small town living includes a comfy cozy home in Argenta, Illinois.
